About

small team.
real systems.

o1 Innovate is a US-based AI automation agency that ships production systems — not strategy decks — for operations teams at SMB and mid-market B2B companies.

How we work

Most agencies in this category sell advisory work or a handful of template integrations. We don't. Every engagement we take ends with production software running in a customer's stack — and we stay on to monitor, tune, and extend it.

Delivery timelines are measured in days or weeks, not months. First working versions ship fast and get iterated against real usage. That's how we've ended up running AI voice systems handling 50,000+ calls a week, operations CRMs for mid-market manufacturers, and content engines for multi-brand agencies.

Founder

Darren Mullen founded o1 Innovateafter years of building operations systems inside companies and watching the same pattern over and over: teams hitting a ceiling where spreadsheets and a generic CRM stop scaling, with no good options between "hire more people" and "two-year enterprise software rollout."

o1 Innovate exists to take that middle path — purpose-built systems delivered in weeks, with the AI layer added where it genuinely reduces manual work rather than where it makes for a better pitch.

What we build

Frequently asked questions

What does o1 Innovate actually do?
We design, build, and operate AI-powered systems that replace manual work — custom operations CRMs, AI voice calling platforms at scale, outbound and lead generation pipelines, real-time dashboards, and AI content engines. Engagements end with production software running in your stack, not strategy decks.
Where are you based?
We are based in the United States and work with clients across North America. Engagements are remote-first with real-time collaboration during the build.
Who is the typical client?
Founders and operations leaders at SMB and mid-market B2B companies — typically 10 to 150 employees, $2M to $50M in revenue. Most of our clients have hit a ceiling where spreadsheets and generic CRMs stop scaling and are looking for a purpose-built system rather than another SaaS seat.
How large is a typical engagement?
Most engagements fall in the range of a 4–12 week initial build plus an ongoing retainer for monitoring, tuning, and iteration. Scope varies by the number of systems and the complexity of the integrations required.
Do you sign SOWs and NDAs?
Yes. Every engagement starts with a signed SOW scoping the work, and we sign mutual NDAs at the beginning of any discovery that touches real client data.
Who owns the code and data when the engagement ends?
You do. Code lives in your GitHub organization. Data lives in your Supabase, Postgres, or cloud account. Our engagement ends without vendor lock-in — you can bring maintenance in-house or continue with us. Both options are real.
How do you price engagements?
Fixed-scope pricing for initial builds, monthly retainer for ongoing operation and iteration. We do not bill hourly for project work; incentives should align on shipping, not on hours logged.
What happens after launch?
Software that runs in production needs ongoing attention. New bottlenecks surface, integrations break, models change, and the original design always has things to refine. Most engagements continue with a monthly operation retainer where we monitor, tune, and add the next layer. Hand-off is always an option if you bring maintenance in-house.
How do I know if we are a good fit?
Book a 30-minute call and we will talk through your current system and the problem you are trying to solve. If a custom build is not the right answer, we will say so — we would rather not take a project than take one that should not exist.
